The short version
Find That Device collects nothing. It has no internet access — the app does not request the Internet permission, so it is technically incapable of sending any data anywhere. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Everything it scans stays on your phone and disappears when you close the app.
1. Data we collect
None. We (VIDesign Studios) collect, receive, store, sell, and share no data of any kind. There are no servers behind this app. There is no account system, no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no third-party code that phones home.
2. What the app can see, and where it stays
To do its job, the app reads what your phone's radios can hear nearby:
- Wi-Fi access points (names, frequencies, signal strengths)
- Bluetooth / BLE devices (names where advertised, signal strengths)
- Cell towers (technology, channel/frequency, signal strength)
- GNSS satellites (constellation, ID, carrier frequency, signal quality)
All of this is processed in memory, on your device only. It is displayed on screen, refreshed every few seconds, and discarded. The app writes no scan logs, exports no files, and keeps no history between sessions. It never reads or stores your latitude/longitude — no location fix is requested for its own sake; the GPS receiver is engaged solely so Android will report the satellite list.
3. Permissions, honestly explained

Deliberately not requested:
- Internet / network access — the app cannot transmit anything, to us or anyone.
- Phone (calls, phone state) — the app never touches calls or subscriber identity.
- Background location — scanning runs only while the app is open and on screen.
- Camera, microphone, contacts, storage — not used, not requested.
Prefer even less? Bluetooth-only mode (Android 12+) scans BLE with zero location permission of any kind.
4. Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children. It contains no ads, purchases, links to social features, or chat.
5. Changes to this policy
If a future version ever changes what the app can access (for example, optional support for external SDR hardware), this policy will be updated first and the change will be called out in the app's update notes. The core commitment — no data collection, no tracking — will not change.

Find That Device reports relative received signal strength using your phone's built-in consumer radios. It is not a calibrated measurement instrument, not a certified EMF meter, and not a laboratory spectrum analyzer. Readings vary with your phone's hardware, antenna orientation, and environment.
The app provides no medical, health, or safety advice. Major health authorities, including the WHO and FCC, have not established harm from everyday RF exposure at consumer levels; nothing in this app should be read as claiming otherwise. Do not use it to make safety-critical decisions.
